Vacationing with kids can be amazing. Watching your child’s face light up as they move from activity to activity on vacation is such a treat. Traveling with kids also brings challenges though, especially when you are on a cruise and there is not a Walgreens on every corner. Of course you remembered to bring the necessities like underwear and swim suits, but what other items earn a spot in your suitcase? Here are our top 3 suggestions:
If you are anything like me, you hate piles of dirty clothes all over the floor and the size of a standard stateroom on a cruise doesn’t leave a whole lot of room for leaving out a suitcase as a hamper. We have gotten in the habit of packing a pop up hamper (like this one) to contain the mess without taking up much bag space.
With all of the papers that are delivered to your room on a daily basis, it is nice to be able to declutter your in-room desk and counters while still being able to find the papers later. There is not exactly a kitchen sized refrigerator in the room, but all of the walls are metal. Bring a pack of magnetic paper clips (like these) and hang those papers on your stateroom walls! That way, you will remember to attend that art auction while still having a clutter-free place to charge your electronics.
USB Charging Brick
Speaking of charging your electronics, outlets on board tend to be scarce. Many of these ships were built long before smartphones were invented, let alone iPads, GoPro cameras, and all of the other electronics we enjoy on a daily basis. It can be tempting to bring a traditional power strip on board, but they are banned because they pose a fire risk. That is why we bring a USB charging brick (like this one). It allows us to charge all of our electronics at once without creating a safety hazard.
